November Stamp Club projects

I know I haven't been posting lately and I'm sorry for that, but getting back into the job scene has been a little crazy and working retail during the Thanksgiving season has been even crazier. Yes I had to work Black Friday, but it was fun!

Anyway, here is the project I started with to make at the November stamp club:

After I had it done, I thought it needed some more color, so changed it to this:

I really like the black behind the sentiment better. As you can see this card uses the Silver Glimmer paper. LOVE how it sparkles and it was a cinch to cut the snowflakes out using the Northern Frost die and the Bigshot. The card base is Cherry Cobbler.

Here is the other project we made:

My hostess wanted to use the Holiday It's a Wrap stamp set and make a nugget box. So we used the Matchbox die to make the box. The box part is using Cherry Cobbler and the cover is using a thick window sheet so we could see the nuggets inside.

Birthday Bracelets

My daughters birthday is this weekend and she wants to have a few friends over to celebrate. Well I thought it would be fun to find some kind of craft to do to keep them busy for a while. She wanted to do tie dyes tshirts, I said no way! Too messy and takes too long to do. So as I was looking through some fun crafty websites, I came across something using Fish Swivels and thought that would make a really cute bracelet.

Well working at a sporting goods store I have access to these things. And one of the girls I work with is celebrating a birthday today. So I sat down this morning and made one up to see how hard it would be and this is what I came up with:

I looped some small beads on to the hooks and the small Jingle Bells from the Holiday Mini catalog, which fit just perfect. I think the girls will have a lot of fun making these and I hope my friend from work thinks it's fun.

Stamp Club projects

Last night was my monthly stamp club and here are the projects we made:

First I showed them how to use the Simply Scored to make this cute purse out of a 6x6 piece of Designer series paper. If you remember, I am making some of these for an upcoming craft show and you can see those in an earlier post.

For this one we used the Spice Cake designer series paper out of the Holiday mini. Everyone made one that looked different because they all had a different pattern. I had them all cut out a leaf from the Leaves die and texture it using the Square Lattice embossing folder to attach to the 'buckle'.

For this card we just used Whisper White card stock. I saw this on a website that is for demonstrators only. This card was inspired by Barb Dykhouse.

I wanted to use the Doily background stamp and love love the Field Flowers stamp set. For the Doily stamp I used Crumb Cake classic ink, the flowers - Always Artichoke and Cajun Craze and the sentiment - Early Espresso.

We used the Houndstooth Embossing folder for the 'sandwich' piece to add some dimension to the card.

I love how the pearls in the corner just add the right something also. You could make this card using any color combination and I think it would turn out just as lovely.

These 2 are the same but different. I grabbed paper from the same package just a different design for each one. The designer paper comes from the Flirtatious pack.

For the top one I used Early Espresso and Pretty in Pink along with the Whisper White to match the designer paper. For the bottom one I used Chocolate Chip and Melon Mambo along with Whisper white to match the designer paper.

All other product used is the same on both of these notebooks:

A couple more altered notebooks

For these 2 I used all current product. The Designer series paper is from the Subtles Patterned paper pack. The Lattice is cut using Whisper White and the Lattice Bigz die and the Bigshot. I had to cut multiple of these, but that's easy because I could cut 4-5 at a time.

The flower is made using the Build a Blossom stamp set and the Blossoms Petals Builder punch. The buttons are from the designer button collections.

For the top notebook I used Perfect Plum classic ink stamped on Whisper White card stock for the flower petals and Old Olive classic ink stamped on Certainly Celery card stock for the leaves. I tied a piece of the white bakers twine to the button and adhered it to the center of the flower using mini glue dots.

The bottom notebook flower uses Marina Mist classic ink and button.

These 2 are the same but just using different designer series paper. Of course the designer paper is retired, but still works for this. I combined it with current paper and embellishments to cover these 2 notebooks.

Altered Notebooks

Here is something else I will be featuring at my upcoming craft show. Altered notebooks. Kids of all ages like to carry these to school instead of the plain old notebooks.

This one features retired designer series paper along with Soft Suede, Certainly Celery and Real Red. The flowers were made from the Bigz XL Flower Folds die and then embossed with the Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder.

1 more Bigshot note pad

This is more of a seasonal one, but I just love how this turned out. I ran a piece of Bashful Blue through the bigshot using the new Snow Burst embossing folder. I then adhered it to a piece of the lightweight cardboard that comes behind the Designer series papers and and cut a circle using the 3 1/2" circle die and the bigshot again. I also cut a piece for the back and a piece of Shimmer paper, which I tore, for the snow on the front.

The inside paper pieces are done with printer paper again and cut using the 3" circle die.

The snowman is made using punches. Punches used are the 2 1/2" circle, 1 3/4" circle, 1 1/4" circle, Snowflake (for the arms), Owl (for the eyes, mouth and heart), Petite Pennant (for the hat and nose) and the little flower from the punch pack (for the ball on the hat).

I put dimensionals between each body piece and added rhinestone buttons down the front of him. Oh and don't forget the scarf which is just a knotted piece of Real Red grosgrain ribbon attached using a mini glue dot.

Seeing the ones on a website I found made of metal prompted me to try this one. It is made from roof flashing. You can cut right through it and even emboss on it using the Bigshot. Isn't that fun!!? Don't you want to just try it?

Another Bigshot note pad

Here's one I made to look like an chocolate sandwich cookie with double stuff in the middle. It's pretty plain, but oh so cute!

I used the Scallop circle #2 die to cut out a piece of Early Espresso which I glued on to a piece of lightweight cardboard, then punched out a 2 3/8" circle in Early Espresso also, which I then ran through the Bigshot with the Polka Dot embossing folder but adhered it upside down so the indents went in.

(just a hint on the lightweight cardboard - if you purchase any of the Designer Series papers, there is a piece of white cardboard behind each pack - keep these, they work great for these kinds of projects)

I used the 3" circle die for the 'double stuff middle' papers, which again were cut out of printer paper.

Bigshot note pad

I saw these cute little note pads on a website, but the cover was made from metal. So I took some retired Designer series paper and glued it onto some thin cardboard and ran it through the bigshot using the large flower from the Bigz L Fun Flowers die.

I then took some regular weight printer paper and did the same thing. I used the crop-a-dile to punch holes in all of it and put a binder ring through.

It needed something else, so I took some Pretty in Pink card stock and and cut out the rest of the flowers found on the Fun Flowers die and also embossed them using the Polka Dot Embossing folder and the bigshot. To hold all the flowers together I used a Silver glimmer brad from the Basics pack. Love these!

I have it hanging on the side of my purse so if I'm ever in need of a piece of paper I have one handy all the time. And when I need more paper, I can just some more and start over.

Another tissue holder

Again this is using retired Designer Series paper. I cut this out using the Movers & Shapers XL die. I did add a piece inside that was punched with the Scallop Oval punch because it is slightly smaller than the movers & shapers die.

The flowers on this were cut out using the Floral Fusion sizzlit die, then I ran the pieces through the bigshot with the Square Lattice embossing folder to give it a little more dimension. I put dimensionals between each piece also. The leaves were punched out using the Bird Builder punch. Adding a Self Adhesive Pearl to the center of the flower gave it just the right touch.

Tissue holder

Isn't this just the cutest way to hide a pack of tissues?!!! I used the Movers & Shapers die to cut this out, the Simply Scored to score and just wrapped it around the tissue. I would have opened the tissue to show how cute it is with the tissue coming out the top, but these are for a craft show and didn't want to open it.

The pumpkin is made from punched. What a cute gift to give to someone that has the sniffles!

The DSP used on this project is retired, but you could use any DSP or card stock.

Another Treat Purse

Again I am using some retired DSP along with current product. I love the new Stocking Builder punch and how easy it is to make this cute stocking. Before I punched the stocking, I ran some Cherry Cobbler cardstock through the Bigshot using the new Snow Burst Embossing folder. The Merry Christmas comes from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.

Gently Falling

I know I haven't posted in quite a while and I apologize for that. But I have an excuse. I got a new job working at an hunting/camping/fishing store and with the hunting season closing in on us, I have been working many many hours.

Today I was lucky and got a day off so I was able to stamp. Of course I have stamp club tonight and really needed to create something for them to do.

Looking through ideas I found a card that really caught my eye and I just knew that my clubbers could create this also:

I love how this card showcases a lot of the different designer series paper patterns from the Spice Cake collection. As you can see I did some paper weaving with the strips.

The leaf image is stamped using the rock n roll technique and isn't that button the bomb?!!

Also looking through sample ideas, I have been seeing a cute box made from the Milk Carton die, that I found out someone at StampinUp Convention demonstrated making. So of course I thought this would be really cute to go along with the above card for tonight:

This is a 6-sided box. I used the Spice Cake DSP again and also the Pear Pizzazz card stock. I stamped a couple of the different leaves from the Gently Falling set using the rock n roll technique again and cut those out, punched a hole and put the hemp twine through those to hold them on. I love how easy this box went together also.

Day 4 - Gently Falling

For this project I had some cardboard that had come behind something that I had ordered from Stampin'Up! (sorry can't remember what) and decided to use it to make a Fancy Favor box. That's the nice thing about the Bigshot, it's cut through so many different things.

I wrapped the box with some new Designer Series paper called Spice Cake. This paper was part of the bundle I was able to pre-order at a very good discount. It goes very well with this stamp set.

The main image is stamped in More Mustard then rolled in Bravo Burgundy. Then the second part of the image was stamped in Bravo Burgundy. The acorn was stamped in More Mustard and Early Espresso and cut out.

Day 3 - Gently Falling

This card is featuring another new item from the Holiday mini - the ribbon. It's 3/8" Velvet Stitched ribbon in Vanilla. Very pretty ribbon!

Day 2 - Gently Falling

This is a copy of a card I found in the main Idea Book & Catalog on page 104. For the card front I used the same colors as the catalog, but used some different colors and added my own twist.

The card front is Soft Suede and Early Espresso. The Early Espresso was run through the Bigshot and a new embossing folder called Stripes.

For the stamped leaf, I used the rock n roll technique, but it's hard to see in the picture. With this stamp set being a 2 step, I stamped the outside image in Soft Suede and the other image in Tangerine Tango and Riding Hood Red. The leaf is stamped on Crumb Cake card stock.

For the strips of card stock under the main image I used Tangerine Tango, Riding Hood Red and Old Olive.

The sentiment is from the Thank You Kindly stamp set.

Day 1 - sneak peek - Gently Falling

Here's another new sneak peek stamp sets called Gently Falling and Hand-Penned Holidays (the Give Thanks sentiment). As a demonstrator, I was able to order the Gently Falling stamp set at a discount along with some new Designer Series Paper, buttons and ribbon. This card layout was taken directly from the Holiday mini. The card in the mini used a different stamp set and different color paper.

New on this card - Quilted Satin ribbon in Early Espresso. This ribbon also comes in Cherry Cobbler. The DSP is called Frostwood Lodge.

Day 2 - Sneak Peek - Pines & Poinsettias

Here's a very simple card made with the Pines & Poinsettias stamp set. Of course I used some new yummy Designer Series paper called Frostwood Lodge. I love love rustic, and this paper is just that.

Day 1 - Sneak Peek - Pines & Poinsettias

Here is a card that I used some sneak peek stuff from the upcoming Holiday mini catalog which you can start ordering out of September 1!!

I'm not sure I like how this turned out, but I'm posting it anyway. I used the Smooch Pearlized Accent ink on the flowers, but I think I used a little too much. I've never used it before and wasn't sure what to do with it, so I outlined the flowers with it.

Anyway, this card uses 2 things that are new - the stamp set and the embossing folder called Snow Burst. Love it!

Framed Art - Day 3

Like yesterday and the day before, here is another piece that can be used in my frame set up with velcro:

This one uses new Designer Series Paper called Beau Chateau which is Pink Pirouette and Soft Suede colors. So I went with a Soft Suede piece along with the DSP for the Top Note, trimming the DSP around the edge to reveal the piece underneath.

The butterflies are cut from an embosslit die called Beautiful Wings. It cuts all the butterflies you see here at once. The colors I used are Melon Mambo, Certainly Celery, Soft Suede, Marina Mist and Daffodil Delight and then added some Basic Pearls to each one.

The ribbon is White Taffeta and the sentiment is punched used the Decorative Label punch. To get the 'shadow' behind the punch, I just punched a piece of Soft Suede and cut it in half and adhered to the back. The sentiment comes from the stamp set Cottage Garden.

Framed Decor

Yesterday I showed you a piece I made using the Creative Elements stamp set and a picture frame. Go there now if you didn't see it - Day 3 - Creative Elements.

Well today I want to show you why I put the velcro on. Why purchase multiple frames when you want to show something different. Just make another creative piece to put in the same frame. With the velcro you can do just that. Here is another piece I made and just attached some velcro to the back of and all I have to do is switch pieces out using the same frame:

This is using the My Friend stamp set and Just Add Cake Designer series paper. I stamped the main image in Wild Wasabi on to Whisper White card stock after I had cut it with the Top Note die along with a piece of DSP. I stamped the sentiment in Basic Black.

The flowers were cut out using the Flower Fusion sizzlit die and So Saffron card stock. The middle of the flowers was punched in Peach Parfait - last years In Color, which is hanging around for another year! The leaves are punched in Wild Wasabi using the Bird punch. Add a few Basic Rhinestones and the velcro to the back and you have a completely different looking piece of art!

Day 3 - Creative Elements

I started creating something for my stamp club this month and it evolved into this. I started with a picture frame that I had picked up and thought I would make something for home decor. Using the Creative Elements stamp set, this is my first creation.

I cut a piece of Basic Black card stock to fit inside the frame to start with. I then cut a piece of designer series paper and a piece of Lucky Limeade card stock with the Top Note die. Wow, I haven't used that die in a while! Anyway, I cut the edge off the DSP to reveal the card stock behind it. I stamped the swirly/stem image on the DSP in Lucky Limeade and then colored in parts of it using ink and the blender pen. It's very hard to see though.

I then stamped the flower image 4 times on Very Vanilla card stock using Cherry Cobbler and cut out by hand 2 all the way around the outside and 2 just the inside part, so I could 'pop' up the flowers and make them look more 3 dimensional.

The sentiment is part of this wonderful set too. I stamped that in Perfect Plum, a color I haven't used in a long while, and punched it out using the Modern Label punch.

I then gathered a piece of Very Vanilla seam binding to fit under the punched piece which I attached using Tombow Multi-purpose adhesive. I added some of the Basic Pearls to that and attached the whole thing with dimensionals.

Well here's the real kicker, this is attached to the black piece of card stock with velcro:

Day 1 - Snow Much Fun

This set I've had for a while because I pre-ordered it before the catalog came out, but haven't had time to stamp with it until today. Of course with the weather as warm and as nice as it's been, we've been in the pool every day. Today we finally had some much needed rain, so down to the stamp room I went and got some cards made with this set.

I really had fun with it. I don't normally purchase sets that need to be colored, but I love how the cards turned out.

This first card is pretty simple. I just used the Northern Flurry Embossing folder to start with. I colored the snowman in with ink and an blender pen. Punched a sentiment out with the Modern Label punch. Added a Real Red ribbon and some bling and you've got a very easy card!!

Day 5 - Pennant Parade and stamp club

My hostess for stamp club this month asked if we could something using one of the box dies for the bigshot. I had just recently received the Bitty box die so decided to try something with that. As I was looking through the new catalog, I came across this cute project on page 67. It shows using a different stamp set, but that's what's nice about the catalog, you can copy or just use it as a starting point for our own ideas.

So along with using this die for the first time, I also taught them to use the Circle Scissors Plus. To make the hole for the cupcake paper to fit in, all of the available circle punches were either too small or too large so I had to cut the hole with Circle Scissors Plus. They did great!

Here is a card we made at stamp club last night. It's white on white, which I am just loving this tone on tone look. The top white layer we ran through the bigshot using the Polka Dot embossing folder to give it some dimension.

This shows some more versatility with this stamp set again. We used the Cupcake builder punch to make an ice cream cone. Come back tomorrow to see the cupcake holder that we made to go along with this card.

Day 4 of Delicate Doilies

This is by far my favorite card so far with this new stamp set. It is using Whisper White and Wisteria Wonder. It is also using the new DSP Flirtatious. I colored the doily in with the Wisteria Wonder stampin' write marker to add more depth to it and used a bunch of the basic Pearl jewels on it and sentiment tag. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Some old and new with this card. Colors include Whisper White, Basic Black and Melon Mambo. The stamped doily is in Melon Mambo embossing powder. This can be found in the Summer mini catalog. It was punched with the Doily Triple Layer punch. The Designer Series paper behind the doily is new and it is called Flirtatious!

This card was very simple but makes an impact. I used Crumb Cake for the card stock and Soft Suede for the ink. The technique is Emboss Resist. I used versamark and clear embossing powder for the main image then sponged over it with Soft Suede. I also sponged around the edges of the card stock. The sentiment is also stamped in Soft Suede. Adding a few of the self adhesive pearls really made it pop!

This is day 3 of the My Friend stamp set cards and day 3 of posting in a row. WOW!

This card features old and new together again. Card stock included on this card are - Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Whisper White, last year In-Color Blushing Bride and introducing a new Designer Series paper called Just Add Cake. The border punch down the right side is the Lace Ribbon Border punch, which I cut to use just part of it. I made one in Blushing Bride and one in Early Espresso. Other features include Crumb Cake Seam binding, flowers punched with the Itty Bitty punch pack punches, a button from the Neutrals button pack, linen thread and lastly self-adhesive Rhinestone jewels.

For this card I used a few new things - the card base is a new In-Color called 'Pool Party'. The ribbon is called Scallop Dots and it's in Chocolate Chip and that will come in 10 different colors. The little piece above the main image is another new In-Color called Lucky Limeade.

If you are wondering about the In-Colors, last years In-Colors are still available for another year. This years new In-Colors will be available for 2 years. Each year there will be new In-Colors and they will be around for 2 years, so there will always be 10 In-Colors to choose from.

My Friend sneak peek

Well I actually took time and stamped the other day using one of my new stamp sets I was able to pre-order out of the 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog. This stamp set is called My Friend. Here is the first card I did:

This card uses some core colors and a new In-Color. I colored the main image with Daffodil Delight and Lucky Limeade, which is a shade lighter than Old Olive. So this could possibly be a new favorite color because I love Old Olive.

The card stock is Crumb Cake, Basic Gray, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White. The sentiment is from the Thank You Kindly stamp set.

Stamp Club projects

Well another year of stamp club has come and gone. I can't believe how fast that year went. I had a lot of fun with everyone! Last night was our last night and here is one of the projects that we made:

This card is using the bleach technique. Some of my clubbers had never used bleach on cards, so this was fun. All you do is make an 'ink pad' using a small foam plate and a folded up paper towel. Pour a little bleach on it and viola, you have an ink pad. Each color card stock looks different when using bleach. Last night we used the hostess set from the Summer mini catalog called Love & Care and stamped a flower on Elegant Eggplant using the bleach. It looks kind of pinky.

We used markers to color the main flower stamp - Certainly Celery, Baja Breeze and Elegant Eggplant and stamped on to Whisper White card stock. We tore a piece of Certainly Celery for the layered piece. We punched a Scalloped oval piece in Baja Breeze and layered it with the sentiment, which is stamped in Elegant Eggplant, and punched with the large oval punch. The button is Elegant Eggplant also.

They were all amazed at what the bleach would do and that you can actually use it with your stamps. If you have a slightly stained stamp, it will actually clean it. You do however want to clean your stamps after using bleach, because it will dry the rubber out and make it crack.

The next project I found on the front cover of a magazine called 'Stampin Success', which is a monthly magazine only Stampin'Up! demonstrators receive. I had received that magazine in the mail the day before and just had to try one of them. Unfortunately I cannot post a picture of the front cover of my magazine because it shows some of the new product from the upcoming new Idea Book & Catalog, but I can post a picture of the flowers we made:

These flowers are made with only using 4 different punches -

Large Heart punch
Heart to Heart punch
1 3/8 circle punch
3/4 circle punch

The magazine showed these flowers on a wire flower stem, but we just made them without so they can be put on a card, scrapbook page or even a box. I had everything punched out for them when they arrived, so they were very easy to assemble.

Stamp club may be over for this catalog year, but another starts up next month with the new Idea Book & Catalog. I still have a few spots left if you are interested in joining. We have a lot of fun! Retiring Teacher gift

My daughters teacher is retiring after 38 years! WOW!! That's a long time. So my daughter helped me pick something out to make for her. We made a journal using My Digital Studio and a cute little 'basket' that has a card and a pack of seeds in. She can plant the seeds to give her something to do this summer. At least what my daughter says! I'm sure she has something else planned for her time off now!

Here is the basket I made:

The basket is made using the #2 box die for the bigshot. The flowers are made using the Fun Flowers die. I only used the smallest flower from the die. I did use some retired micro beads for the center of each flower. I tried to make each flower look like Cosmos, which was the seed packet.

The leaves are punched from the Bird Builder punch. The card is just a 3x3 card made from Daffodil Delight cardstock and all I did to the card was run it through the bigshot with the Flower Garden embossing folder. Love how it turned out. So simple. Here is a picture of everything out of the basket:

I know, I've been a lot MIA lately. It's just been so busy.

Well I did have to stamp yesterday because I had stamp club and as of yesterday morning I really didn't know what we were going to do. But I pulled it off and we had a great time last night.

Here is the first project we did. I did copy this from a fellow demonstrator, Connie B. I wanted to show some of the new product in the Summer mini catalog, which by the way can be found in the left column of my blog.

This card uses one of the new fabulous punches called Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer punch. It's 3 punches in 1!!!!

I started with a Soft Suede base of 8x9 to make a larger card of 4x9, which will fit in a #10 envelope. I then ran a piece of River Rock through the bigshot using the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder and rounded the corners. The flowers are punched with Daffodil Delight with a Soft Suede center, punched from the Boho Blossoms punch and Whisper White. I sniped the Daffodil flowers to give them a little dimension. The leaves are punched with the Bird punch and the stems are just cut from Always Artichoke. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and punched with the small oval punch.

This is not a card you would want to make a lot of, but the result is beautiful!

The second card we did was doing a technique - crayon resist. We also used a couple of new stamp sets - Flower Fest and Happy Greetings.

We started with a Wild Wasabi card base and layered it with Glossy White cardstock. Using the Flower Fest stamp set, we stamped in Tangerine Tango, Wild Wasabi and Melon Mambo. Once that dried we took a white crayon and make marks where we wanted the cardstock to show through. We then took sponge daubers and sponged ink over the images. Then we took a tissue and wiped off the access ink and crayon to reveal where the crayon marks were.

We stamped the butterfly in Melon Mambo and to Melon Mambo cardstock and punched it with the butterfly punch. That's what's great about this stamp set, it coordinates with so many of Stampin'Up! punches.

For the sentiment we used Melon Mambo again and stamped on Whisper White cardstock and punched using the Decorative Label punch. We punched another using Melon Mambo, which we cut in half and layered under the sentiment.

Emboss Resist card #5

I'm sorry I haven't posted each day like I said I would, but it's spring break here and my kids are my first priority.

But I got up early this morning so I could add another card showing you the emboss resist technique. Here you go:

On this card I embossed the tag, which by the way is from a sneak peek stamp set called Four Frames (wood-#123440 $20.95, clear-#123442 $15.95), that will be in the 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog, but you can order already along with the Paisley Prints Designer Series paper (#122367 $9.95). The bird is cut out of one of the other frame stamps from this wonderful new set also.

I embossed the image in White embossing powder (#109132 $4.75) and sponged Crumb Cake over it to make it pop. Then I punched it out with the Decorative Label punch (#120907 $16.95). The circles behind the main image are from the 2 1/2" circle punch (#120906 $16.95) and the 3" circle die (#122125 $17.95). I used the Framed Tulips Textured Impressions Embossing folder (#121809 $7.95) on the card front.

The ribbon is the 1/2" Seam Binding in Crumb Cake (#122332 $6.95) and the button is also Crumb Cake and can be found in the Designer buttons Neutrals collection (#119743 $8.95). I tied a piece of Linen Thread (#104199 $4.50) on the button, and viola', it just finished the card off nicely don't you think.

I love how this one turned out too. I used the Friends 24/7 stamp set for this card. I also used the Newsprint DSP. The colors are Crumb Cake, Early Espresso and Elegant Eggplant.

For card #3 I used the Upsy Daisy stamp set. I used White embossing powder and sponged Elegant Eggplant around it. This is a very quick and easy card to make.

As promised, here is card #2. This one I stamped the background first, then I stamped the main image in versamark and heat embossed it with clear powder. I wanted the background stamp to show through the main image. Then I added ink with a sponge over the main image.

The card was nice and simple, but it needed something, so out came the pearls. And the nice thing about those, they are self adhesive!!! Just enough bling to add a pop! Hope you liked this one. come back tomorrow for another!

I actually got down in my stamp room on Saturday to stamp. WOW, it's been a while I know. I decided to work on some samples I needed to make for a stamping event I have coming up in April where I am demonstrating Emboss Resist. Over the next few days I will be sharing them one by one. Here is the first one:

On this card I used the brayer to apply the color, then took a sponge to get color into all the 'veins' of the leaves. I haven't done this technique in quite a while. Fun and easy technique and love the results.

After our blizzard here in Michigan, my kids and their cousins went over to my in-laws house to sled. The snow was up to my nieces waist in some spots, and she's about 5' 9"! It was very cold, but boy did we have a hard time getting the kids inside for supper! They did not want to quit!

I was able to go scrapbooking again this past weekend with my sister-in-law and completed a few more pages I would like to share with you. All of the pages I will be sharing over the next dew days were done on My Digital Studio.

As you can see with these 2 pages, they are pretty much alike. When I created the first page, I just copied it and changed the pictures and the journaling. So easy and so quick!

Wedding Invites

I've been working on wedding invites for a friend and co-worker who is getting married this summer. Her wedding is completely black and white, so she wanted very simple yet elegant invitations and RSVP's.

The invite and RSVP both have the large rose stamp from the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set (#113734 $24.95) stamped in the corner with versamark (#102283 $7.50) and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder (#109130 $4.75). The ribbon is designed to look like a bow tie.
The RSVP is 3 1/2 x 5 so an address label can just be adhered to the back of it along with a postcard stamp and guests can just put it back in the mail without an envelope.

I designed the writing on My Digital Studio and was able to print 4 on one page.

My daughter's 'tween' room!

With my dad moving into assisted living, he couldn't take his queen size bed with him so he gave it to my daughter. You should have heard the squeals when we told her!

Well she informed us that because she was getting a bigger bed she needed a more grown up room. Mind you she is 8! She had a princess room - you know pink and more pink! So we went through the JcPenney catalog just to get some ideas of what was out there and she found exactly what she wanted. She didn't want to look any more!

So on to the computer I went to order it. She couldn't wait to get it. She asked the next day if it was here or not. Well once we received it, she insisted on buying paint right away. So on a day that everyone was home for a snow day, my husband and I got it painted. More squeals!!

Well we got it all put together, but it still needed something. So back on to the computer I went to order the curtains that matched the comforter. I had tried to find some in-expensive curtains to match at a local store, but they just didn't match and by the time I had purchased enough pieces to fill both windows, the cost was about the same.

So once I got the curtains and got those up, I had some of the Stampin'Up! decor elements butterflies waiting to put up in her room before, so up they went. Here is some pictures of the end results. She just LOVES it. The pictures don't do it justice. The paint is very very bright!

Decor elements add so much to a room and wall. I have them all over the place in my house. If you ever want to remove them (unfortunately they cannot be used over) they come off the paint without pulling paint off the walls. They can adhered to any flat surface. I also have them on the back window of my car on the outside and they don't come off in the car wash! Stamp Club projects

Last night was my monthly stamp club and here is 1 of the projects we made:

The first card is using new stuff from the Occasions mini catalog. The Build-a-blossom stamp set (#121923 $25.95 wood, #121994 $18.95 clear) is a must to have along with the Blossoms Petals punch (#121808 $16.95). The punch makes this stamp set so easy to use. The next new item used on this card is the Framed Tulips embossing folder (#121809 $7.95). Love love this folder, so elegant. The Antique brads are found in the main catalog (#117273 $5.95) and the sentiment is an oldie but goodie - Sincere Salutation (#115068 $23.95). Cardstock used is: Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, Basic Black and Whisper White. Ink used is: Rose Red, Always Artichoke and Basic Black.

Valentine's 2011

As promised, I am showing you my daughters valentine's for this year. I saw these out on the Stampin' Connections forum, which is a place for Stampin'Up! demonstrators to connect with one another and share ideas. The ones I saw were actually made for Halloween, but I thought the idea was so cute, that it could be used for any occasion.

I used mostly scrap designer series papers for these. The piece of brushed silver paper that I crimped to look like the metal piece that holds the eraser on is still current. The tip of the pencil is a Hershey's Kiss, the eraser is a Rolo, and the base of the pencil is a roll of fruit flavored Mentos.

The tag was made with the 2 3/8" scallop circle punch, the 1 3/4" circle punch and the Owl punch. The owl is stamped using the FREE sale-a-bration stamp set called Punch Bunch. The heart on the owl is punched from the wonderful new paper in the Occasions mini catalog called Glimmer paper. LOVE that paper. Imagine, a paper full of glitter that doesn't rub off all over the place! The heart is punched using the owl punch also.

I really had fun making these and my daughter can't wait to pass them out tomorrow.

Stamp club projects

I hope you are enjoying my MDS scrapbook pages, but I thought you might like to see what we did for stamp club last night, which by the way was a lot of fun! Thanks Janet for hosting it at your house instead of mine for a change! LOL

It felt good to stamp again too. Janet asked that we do birthday cards, one for a girl and one for a boy. Here is what I came up with. I did start with some inspiration from a demonstrator forum called 'Stampin' Connections'.

The first card, which is the 'girl' card, uses some new product from the Occasions mini.

The cupcake was made using the wonderful new punch called Build a Cupcake (121807 - $16.95). For the bottom of the cupcake, I ran a piece of Early Espresso through the crimper first then punched it out to make it look like a cupcake paper.

The 'frosting' uses the new 'Glimmer paper' (121790 - $3.95). Love it! The glitter does not come off at all. It's easy to punch through too. And what girl doesn't like a little bling!!

I left the little tag open so the age could be stamped or written on it.

Can you guess what the silver paper is? Aluminum foil!!! Yes, when you run a piece through the bigshot, the embossing comes out great! What a great way to add 'chrome' to a guy card! What guy doesn't like chrome!

I was able to go to a crop last Friday and it was so nice only having to take my laptop along instead of lugging all kinds of containers with scrapbook stuff in.

Over the next few days I will show you some of the pages I was able to complete.

This was a pretty simple layout. Actually I started with one of the preset layouts and changed it a little, which you can do. Nothing is set in stone with this program, it's wonderful. As you can see, the kids were having a blast in the water that day. The water was in the 70's, which Lake Michigan is not usually that warm. And to top it off, a big ship came down the channel. The kids didn't know it until it blew it's horn. That sure got their attention!

I am so sorry about that. Life is just really getting in the way of my stamping. Hopefully things will calm down starting next week.

I do however have something to show you. I had picked up a package of lip gloss on an after christmas sale for my 2nd grade girls group at church, because I didn't have time to get them something for Christmas, and needed an idea on how to wrap them. Well this is what I came up with:

These are triangle boxes that I made to fit the tubes of lip gloss. And I got the new Build a Blossom stamp set along with the punch that is in the Occasions mini catalog and just had to use them. LOVE it!! Here is a picture of it opened:

Once I had them shut and tied, the lip gloss didn't move around at all. They just loved them. If you have a 7 or 8 year daughter or grand daughter you know what I'm talking about. They would just love to start wearing makeup, so I thought this was safe enough.

Christmas Card 2010

I just LOVE the My digital studio program Stampin'Up! sells. This took me about an hour to create. The hardest part was figuring out which picture(s) to use - all of us or just the kids. Well, I used both. I can't wait to get these in the mail.

I know, it's been a while since I've been out here. 18 days to be exact. I'm so sorry about that. With the holiday season, it's seems to be the last thing on my mind.

I did however have to think about it, because I had stamp club last night. And of course I didn't even figure out what we were going to make until yesterday morning. I know gasp!

Well I did figure it out and this is what we made:

I wanted to make something that they could enjoy for a while. As I was making this yesterday morning and struggling with it, I thought there was no way I could show them how to do this. But as I kept going and figured out each step and how to put it together the easiest way, it really did turn out great. I didn't hear too many complaints either as all my clubbers were making them.

So I guess over all it was a good project and they all loved it when they were done. They were all thinking of a place to hang it as they left too!!

Here is a flower hair clip made with the flower folds die for the bigshot, just like the headbands but one size flower smaller. You could even wear this on a shirt or clip it on to your purse.
