My daughter's 'tween' room!

With my dad moving into assisted living, he couldn't take his queen size bed with him so he gave it to my daughter. You should have heard the squeals when we told her!

Well she informed us that because she was getting a bigger bed she needed a more grown up room. Mind you she is 8! She had a princess room - you know pink and more pink! So we went through the JcPenney catalog just to get some ideas of what was out there and she found exactly what she wanted. She didn't want to look any more!

So on to the computer I went to order it. She couldn't wait to get it. She asked the next day if it was here or not. Well once we received it, she insisted on buying paint right away. So on a day that everyone was home for a snow day, my husband and I got it painted. More squeals!!

Well we got it all put together, but it still needed something. So back on to the computer I went to order the curtains that matched the comforter. I had tried to find some in-expensive curtains to match at a local store, but they just didn't match and by the time I had purchased enough pieces to fill both windows, the cost was about the same.

So once I got the curtains and got those up, I had some of the Stampin'Up! decor elements butterflies waiting to put up in her room before, so up they went. Here is some pictures of the end results. She just LOVES it. The pictures don't do it justice. The paint is very very bright!

Here's a close up of the butterflies:

Decor elements add so much to a room and wall. I have them all over the place in my house. If you ever want to remove them (unfortunately they cannot be used over) they come off the paint without pulling paint off the walls. They can adhered to any flat surface. I also have them on the back window of my car on the outside and they don't come off in the car wash! Go check out the catalog in the left column of my blog and you can order these right online on my online store here.

If you would like to host a workshop, you can also earn these for FREE and there are a few you can get as hostess gifts. Place a $50 order and you can get a FREE sale-a-bration item also. This promotion will be ending at the end of March so jump on it quick! Contact me today!

Personalized Scrapbook Albums

I have been wanting to do this for quite some time now, and just haven't. I've had the raw vinyl for over a year. So when I received my printed scrapbook pages that I had ordered through Stampin'Up!s professional printing service for my kid's scrapbooks and put those all away, I decided to get my bigshot out and try it. Here is the results:

These are two older albums I had purchased at a scrapbook store a long time ago.

These are Stampin'Up!s 3-ring albums. Love these!! I can fit so much more into these. I used the Go-Go boots dies and cut out my letters and numbers on the bigshot. Because the albums are linen, I wasn't sure if the vinyl would stick good or not, but it seems to be staying pretty good. Love how this turned out. Now my kids can just grab the books and know what order they go in. And I know which book I'm working on without having to pull each of them out.

I used white and chocolate vinyl on these albums, but there are a host of other colors available. Go to my online store here to see them all.

On a side note, as I mentioned earlier in my post, I had a bunch of single pages printed through Stampin'Up!s professional printing service, all I can say is FABULOUS!!! They turned out wonderful. The pictures look great and the embellishments look so real. There were no white edges on any of the pages and I ordered 41 of them!! The colors are very good also.

If you haven't tried My Digital Studio yet, you have got to try it!!! Go to my online store and order it today!!

Beautiful Wings Embosslits die card

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! WELCOME TO 2010!! Wow it just seems like we were welcoming in 2000 when my son was born and the world was coming to an end!! We laugh at that now!!

As promised, here is a card I made using a new embosslits die called Beautiful wings which is found in the Occasions mini catalog starting January 5. Yeah, that's only 4 days away!!!

All the butterflies you see on this card were cut at once with this new die. The picture in the catalog actually only shows 4 butterflies, but it cuts 5. I wanted to do something more springy or summery, so I used a color I haven't touched in a long while, Barely Banana.

I also used a new Impressions Folder to make the background called Perfect Polka Dots. It makes a wonderful impression. The sentiment is from the Oval All stamp set. The ribbon is the Whisper White Organza ribbon, which I dyed yellow using the Barely Banana classic ink pad. This is great ribbon for doing that too, you can change it to any color.

OCCASIONS MINI CATALOG INFORMATION

By the way, Stampin'Up! doesn't usually let us show you upcoming catalogs until they are available to order from, but they have made an exception this time and are allowing us to post the Occasion mini catalog for you to see. So in the left column I have posted the mini catalog, just click on the catalog to download it and see all the wonderful things it has to offer. Get out a pen and paper, you are going to want to jot down everything for your wish list.

SALE-A-BRATION BROCHURE INFORMATION

I have also posted the Sale-a-bration brochure for you to look at in the left column. This also starts January 5. With every $50 order (before shipping and tax) you may pick something out of this brochure for FREE. Spend $100 and you get to pick 2 items for FREE!! I love this time of year.

DEFINITELY DECORATIVE INSERT INFORMATION

One more item, the new Definitely Decorative insert has been added in the left column also. Awesome new stuff. I don't even know where to begin with this for myself. I WANT IT ALL!!!

Remember, all three of these new catalogs will start on January 5 and you can order through my online store here: sheryldreyer.stampinup.net

I hope 2010 will bring you everything your heart desires. Have a blessed new year!!!

Christmas Decor Idea

Remember this vase that I made last year using the ornament Decor Elements? Well with the Holiday Extravaganza sale going on right now, and there being a similar Decor Elements on the list, I thought I would give you an idea of something to make for yourself or even for a great gift.

You could easily duplicate this using the Vintage Ornaments Decor Elements:

This comes as a bundle. So you get the 2 sets of ornaments and the wreath. This bundle is marked at 40% off. Use 1 set of the ornaments for yourself, the other for a gift. Mix or match the colors. The wreath could easily be put in a frame, so you could take it down each year and not have to peel it off the wall.

The ornaments come in Real Red and Chocolate Chip, but the wreath comes in some different colors, Kraft and Real Red, Chocolate Chip and Real Red or Old Olive and Real Red. So go to my website, www.sheryldreyer.stampinup.net, and pick which one works best for you.

Remember my sale on Friday only:

But if you can't wait until Friday to get these Decor elements and other fabulous deals, shop early. You may shop online directly on my website above or by contacting me.

Contact me if you have any questions. Happy shopping!!

More Decor Elements

I have an open stairway to our basement in my livingroom and wanted to give it some color, so I found some paint that matches Bravo Burgundy and also my sofa. Don't you just love the color!!

Well I had this painting just hanging there all by itself and wanted to add something to it but didn't want to spend a lot of money, so I decided to go with a Decor Element. I fell in love with the Direction of your Dreams saying and the birds, I knew it would fit perfectly. This one is in Kraft, which is no longer available. My husband said it didn't need anything, but does admit that it looks good.

Park Avenue Ornaments Decor Elements

I really like the Christmasy Decor Elements that Stampin'Up! carries, but I didn't want to put them on the wall. So instead I found this really cute candle holder at Michaels to adhere them on. I used the small Park Avenue Ornaments in Real Red. The top part of this holder lifts out so I could fill the bottom. I filled it with pine cones and Christmas cording intertwined with the pine cones. I love how this turned out. This would make a great gift. Order yours today and don't forget about the FREE shipping till December 23! Contact me for details.
