Ribbon Weaving

I love Kristina Werner's blog. She is a gal that works at StampinUp! and she has a fun blog and really great stuff. Well every Monday she does a Make a Card Monday video and this was what she showed us yesterday:

Isn't that just the coolest thing! You actually weave ribbon around a piece of cardstock. I watched her video and just had to try it. It took a little to get it right, but I think next time will be a piece of cake.

For this card I used Basic Gray for the card base. My card is 4 x 4". I used a piece of the Spring Break DSP for behind the ribbon square. I used the ticket corner punch on it also. That was mounted directly to the card base.

I used the Pumpkin striped ribbon for the weaving and wrapped it around a piece of Pumpkin Pie card stock. I mounted that to the center of the DSP using glue dots.

I used another piece of Pumpkin Pie card stock with the center cut out for the top. I dry embossed a line all the way around it. I used the ticket corner punch on that and mounted it centered over the ribbon piece using dimensionals. I should say that I used a 'Thank You' rub-on from the 'A Perfect Day' rub-ons in the Occasions Mini catalog on the top piece before I adhered it to the card.

The flowers are from the Pretties Kit. I left one white, but the top small one I colored using my Pumpkin Pie marker. I held them together with a silver brad and they are mounted using a mini glue dot.

Here is a side view of it:

I really like how this turned out. It was a lot of fun to make. I would love to hear from all of you and would love to see any creations you come up with with this technique. You can watch the video on her blog by clicking on her name above.

Thanks for stopping today!
