Rag Lunch Bag

Another Rag Bag
Here's another purse that's the same size as the previous one, but this one has a ribbon closer. It also has 2 handles and they are braided like the wine bag I showed a couple of posts ago. The other difference on this bag, is I cut the batting with the square scallop die also and you are able to see that in the seams. I'm not sure how this will wash up, but whoever received it for a door prize will find out. They can always turn the purse inside out if they don't want to see the batting.

1 of many rag bags
Here's a purse I designed that is a little different then some of the other purses I've seen and done. I made this one the same size as most of them, but this one I added a flap that goes all the way over the top and has a button hole in the front that you can button. I used a large brad for the button.
I only made a single strap that goes from side to side instead of front to back and there are pockets in the inside.
I hope I've inspired you to go make one of these yourself.

Another Wine Bag

Quilted Wine Bag
Well Jackie asked me if I would make a bunch of purses in different shapes and sizes with different features on all of them to give away as door prizes.
Here is one of the items I made -- a wine bag.
This uses 26 scallop squares cut out using the bigshot and the exclusive clear scallop square bigz die. Inside this bag I used some plastic also cut with the die to keep the bag from getting wet if the bottle of wine was perspiring.
I used a strip of fabric and 2 different colors of satin ribbon and braided them together to make the handle.
The flower on the front was made with a strip of fabric. I basted one side and gathered it. It is being held on with one of Stampin'Up's large chocolate chip brads.
Here's a closer look at the flower. With this being held on with a brad, it can easily be removed so the bag can be washed.
Come back tomorrow and see another wine bag I made using a different fabric. These make wonderful gifts with or without the wine. You can put one of these together in less than an hour.

Drum roll please...My First ever Quilt
I've sewn clothes before but have never attempted a quilt. So I was pretty happy with the way this turned out. Let me know what you think.

You can click on the pictures to get a closer look. I sewed the sections together the same as the rag bags with the seams showing. When I had it all sewn together, I used a pinking shears and trimmed all my seams. I really didn't want them to fray when I washed it.
I hope you like what you see and if you decide to give it a try yourself, I would love to see a picture. It was fun to make, but I don't think I will be making a lot of them in the near future, but you never know!
Thanks for stopping and I should be back to stamping here soon.

Quilt squares 2 & 3
Here are 2 more 'squares'. Maybe I shouldn't call them squares, but sections. Anyway, here are 2 more:
This section is actually 12 x 24. For the flower part I used the Scallop Oval bigz die and just used the inside piece that gets cut out. The leaves are also made with just the oval part. The center of the flower is cut from the Circles originals die. I just layered different sizes. I used a button from the Sherbet collection for the center of the flower and 5/8" Old Olive grosgrain ribbon for the stem. Here is a close up of the flower:

The next section is smaller. It's 12 x 6.
For this section I used the Scallop Square Clear Bigs die with a flower cut from the Clear Flower Bigz die. I also added buttons to the center of these from the Sherbet collection.
In case you want to order these dies to try your hand at this, here is what I used for dies for yesterdays and todays posts:

Quilting with the Bigshot
Hi everyone, I'm back from my cruise in the Southern Caribbean and ready to get back into it. Over the next week I will be posting 'squares' that I have made using the bigshot to make a quilt. At the end of the week I will show you the completed quilt.
It's amazing what you can do with the bigshot. Using the bigz dies, you can cut at least 50 different materials including fabric.

For this square, I used the exclusive Stampin'Up! Clear Scallop Square and Butterflies bigz dies. The squares I cut in half. This is a 12 x 12 square that the pieces are stitched on. I stitched the 12 x 12 square together with batting in the middle first, then stitched the die cut pieces all the way through so I can see the stitching on the back. So when the quilt is completely put together the back is cool with all the stitching showing.
Come back tomorrow for another 'square' which may not even be square :-).

Another Beach Bag
I had some left over fabric from another project, so I decided to make another beach bag. This one has 2 small pockets for cell phone, keys etc. and 1 longer pocket for sun screen inside it. I also used Stampin'Up! ribbon for the handles this time, and there are 6 different fabrics.

As you can see, I love making these. But I promise to get back to stamping soon. Thanks for stopping.
